AI carousel generator, AI Instagram post generator or AI social media post generator?
These names overlap, but they describe three kinds of tools. Knowing which one you need cuts this list in half.
- Dedicated AI carousel generators write and design multi-slide posts. PostNitro, aiCarousels and Contentdrips sit here.
- AI social media post generators make carousels plus single images, captions and videos, and usually schedule them. Predis.ai, Ocoya, WaveGen and Blotato sit here, and Taplio is the LinkedIn-only version.
- Design editors and cloners do something different. Canva gives you a canvas with AI help, and TokCloner rebuilds an existing carousel with your words and images.
If you are new to the format, start with what a carousel post is.
How we evaluated these AI carousel tools
We opened each tool’s homepage and pricing page on October 13, 2026. We did not buy every plan, so feature descriptions come from each vendor’s own pages unless we say otherwise. TokCloner is described from our own product.
We compared every tool on six points:
- Input. A topic, your text, a blog URL, a product URL, or an existing post.
- Sizes and export. PNG or PDF, and which aspect ratios: 4:5, 1:1, 16:9 or 9:16.
- Brand control. Fonts, colors and logo applied automatically.
- Editing. Can you change one slide without starting over?
- Posting. Does it schedule to Instagram, LinkedIn or TikTok?
- Price and free option. Entry price, and what the free plan really allows.

The 10 best AI carousel generators by use case
The order follows use case, not a ranking score.
PostNitro: best for branded carousels in several sizes
PostNitro turns a topic, your own text, a blog URL or an X thread into a branded carousel. Nitro Chat, an AI agent beside the canvas, drafts an outline for your approval, writes the slides and edits them on request. It exports PNG per slide, a single PDF for LinkedIn, or MP4, in 4:5, 1:1 or 16:9, with a 9:16 canvas for stories.
It fits creators and small teams who post the same idea to Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok.
Pricing (checked October 2026): Free plan with up to 5 AI slides per carousel and 5 watermarked downloads a month. Starter is $15/month (8 slides, 30 downloads), Creator+ $30/month (15 slides, unlimited downloads, scheduling to 10 accounts) and Team+ $60/month (20 slides, 30 accounts). Yearly billing gives two months free.
Limits: The AI slide count per carousel is capped by plan, and scheduling starts at $30. Programmatic access is a $10/month add-on on Starter. We compare it with TokCloner on TokCloner vs PostNitro.
aiCarousels: best low-cost starting point
aiCarousels is a carousel editor with an AI writing assistant. It turns a topic, text, website, YouTube video or PDF into a carousel, with templates for LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok. Pro adds extra generators for LinkedIn posts, post ideas, quote cards and infographics.
It fits solo creators who want a simple editor and a low bill.
Pricing (checked October 2026): aiCarousels has no public pricing page. Its billing system lists a free plan, Pro at $14.95/month or $120/year, and Team (up to five people) at $59/month or $468/year.
Limits: The site does not state free-plan limits, export formats or slide sizes. It does not mention scheduling, so you download and post yourself.
Contentdrips: best for LinkedIn templates, bulk creation and an API
Contentdrips makes carousels from text, a blog post, a YouTube video or a CSV file. It has carousel templates for LinkedIn and Instagram, a post writer, and scheduling to LinkedIn and Instagram from one dashboard. Higher plans add an API and MCP access.
It fits LinkedIn creators, and agencies that generate carousels from data.
Pricing (checked October 2026): Free plan with 50 AI credits, and a 7-day trial with 50 credits. Plan cards list Starter at $15/month (500 credits) and Pro at $26/month (1,200 credits), billed monthly. A second plan grid on the same page showed $0 placeholders when we checked, so confirm the price at checkout.
Limits: One AI carousel costs 10 credits and one AI image costs 25, so the free credits cover about five carousels. Yearly billing saves up to 20%, and there is a 15-day refund policy.
Taplio: best for LinkedIn-only growth
Taplio is a LinkedIn tool. It drafts posts in your voice, generates carousels, schedules a week of posts, shows analytics and finds leads. A free Chrome extension adds features inside LinkedIn.
It fits founders and consultants whose main channel is LinkedIn.
Pricing (checked October 2026): Starter $39/month, Growth $69/month and Pro $199/month, billed monthly. Starter and Growth include 250 AI credits a month for the post and carousel generators; Pro is unlimited. There is a 7-day trial with Pro access and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Limits: It supports LinkedIn only. If you only want carousels, it costs more than the dedicated tools above.
Canva: best for full design control
Canva is a design editor with a large template library. Magic Design suggests designs from a prompt or your photos, including Instagram posts and stories. Pro adds a brand kit, bulk design, one-click resizing and social scheduling.
It fits people who already know what each slide says and want control over every detail.
Pricing (checked October 2026): Free plan, with up to 20 AI uses a month. Pro is US$144/year for one person, and Business is US$250/year per person. Canva offers a free trial of Pro and Business.
Limits: Magic Design gives you a starting layout, but you write, order and adjust most slides yourself. Free users see watermarks on Pro content. See TokCloner vs Canva.
Predis.ai: best for ecommerce ads and carousels
Predis.ai now presents itself mainly as an AI ad generator. It starts from a product URL, a prompt or an image, and makes video ads, image ads and carousels in brand colors, tone and logo. It works in 19+ languages, includes competitor analysis, and connects to Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix and Squarespace.
It fits ecommerce brands that want ads and organic carousels from one tool.
Pricing (checked October 2026): No free plan. Core is $32/month or $24/month billed yearly (1,300 credits), Rise $79 or $55 (3,200 credits) and Enterprise+ $249 or $212 (10,000 credits). The 3-day trial needs a card and charges you when it ends.
Limits: Auto-posting starts on Rise. Payments after the trial are non-refundable.
WaveGen: best for repurposing your website or blog
WaveGen reads your website to build a brand kit, then drafts posts from your blog, newsletters, YouTube videos, notes or PDFs. It makes carousels, single images, quote cards and short videos, and schedules them to six networks. Nothing is published until you schedule or post it.
It fits coaches, consultants and B2B teams with more writing than time.
Pricing (checked October 2026): Free plan with no card and one connected account. Starter is $49/month or $40/month billed yearly (30 generated posts), Growth $99 or $80 (60 posts), and Pro $199 or $160 (120 posts).
Limits: Generated posts are capped each month, though unused ones roll over up to 3 times your allowance. WaveGen says it is not a canvas editor.
Ocoya: best for small teams that want one calendar
Ocoya writes copy, visuals and hashtags from a one-line idea and can translate into 37 languages. It generates images, carousels and short video in your brand, with a Design Studio editor and LinkedIn PDF carousels. Its WooCommerce integration turns new products into scheduled posts.
It fits small marketing teams that want creation and scheduling in one place.
Pricing (checked October 2026): No free plan; every plan has a 7-day trial. Starter $29/month (300 AI credits, 5 profiles, 1 user), Team $79/month (1,500 credits, 20 profiles, 5 users) and Agency $199/month (5,000 credits, 100 profiles, 20 users). Yearly billing gives two months free.
Limits: The pricing page does not say which features each plan includes, so check before you buy.
Blotato: best for repurposing across nine platforms
Blotato generates carousels, infographics, image slideshows and quote cards from templates and prompts. It imports YouTube videos, TikToks, X posts, articles, PDFs and audio as source material. It posts to nine platforms and runs through an MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT, a REST API, and n8n and Make nodes.
It fits creators who repurpose long content and like to automate.
Pricing (checked October 2026): Starter $29/month (1,250 AI credits, 20 social accounts), Creator $97/month (5,000 credits) and Agency $499/month (28,000 credits). Every plan has a 7-day free trial, and yearly billing saves about 17%.
Limits: There is no free plan, and the trial excludes the API. See TokCloner vs Blotato.
TokCloner: best for rebuilding a proven carousel in 9:16
TokCloner starts from a link to an Instagram carousel or a TikTok photo slideshow. It reads each slide’s text and styling, maps the hook, slide roles, payoff and CTA, and rewrites the post for your business profile. It then generates a new background per slide, or uses your own photos for 0 credits.
You get 1080×1920 PNG slides, usually in 1 to 3 minutes, and a slide editor for text, font, color and position. A public API, MCP server and CLI let agents run it. Credit the original creator for the idea, and do not repost their images or text; TokCloner writes new words and makes new images.
Pricing (checked October 2026): No free plan or trial. Starter $29/month (400 credits), Pro $59/month (900) and Studio $119/month (2,000). A clone costs 3 credits plus 1 to 21+ credits per generated background.
Limits: It exports 9:16 only, with no 4:5, 1:1 or LinkedIn PDF. It handles image posts only, and has no scheduling, analytics or team seats. See how it works on the Instagram carousel maker page.
How to choose an AI carousel generator
Answer three questions in order.
- Where will it post? For LinkedIn, pick a tool with PDF export or direct LinkedIn posting: PostNitro, Ocoya, Taplio or Contentdrips. For Instagram feed carousels, PostNitro and Canva offer 4:5 and 1:1. For TikTok photo mode and Stories, use 9:16 tools such as TokCloner or WaveGen.
- What do you start from? A topic suits PostNitro or aiCarousels. A blog or website suits WaveGen, Contentdrips or Blotato. A product URL suits Predis.ai, and a carousel you have seen work suits TokCloner.
- Do you need scheduling? If yes, compare PostNitro Creator+, Ocoya, WaveGen, Blotato, Taplio and Canva Pro. If no, the cheaper tools are enough.
Export size is easy to get wrong. Check the current specs for each platform in our Instagram carousel size guide before you export.
Then test two tools on the same carousel. Rewrite slide one by hand, check the export size, and see which one needed fewer fixes. If TikTok slideshows are your main format, see our list of the best TikTok slideshow generators.
